Full medical check-ups
We follow the Child Health Programme carrying out periodical check-ups from newborns to 14 years of age. After a full anamnesis, there will be a complete physical examination. Regular medical check-ups will pick up any potential problems, allowing to take steps in either preventing them or beginning early treatment. At each medical examination you will be given written childcare guidelines depending on your chids age. All guidelines are in English and are based on recomendations from the British Paediatric Association, the Spanish Paediatric Association, the American Association of Pediatrics and the Canadian Pediatric Society. Pathologies and illnesses
We are specialists in all pathologies affecting children, from newborns until 14 years of age. There are specific diseases that affect children and that only occur at this time of life, as well as medicines that are widely used in adults but that can be extremely harmful during this period.
Nutrition
As is well known, nutrition is essential to ensure your childs health. Breastfeeding guidance and introduction of new foods in children´s diet are regularly updated according to the ESPGHAN (European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition). As your child grows, we´ll instruct you on how to introduce foods in the chronological order suggested by this association.
Vaccinations
All vaccines can be given at our surgery. We can update your childs vaccines if needed, whether they are following the Canarian Immunization Schedule or a schedule from another country.
Every time your child receives a vaccine it will be annotated twice: One in his vaccination book (if you don´t have one we will give you one) and another in this medical history.
If you rather not vaccinate your child with us just let us know.
We´ll also give you information on the vaccines recomended by the Spanish Paediatric Asociation and included in countries such as the UK, France, Germany...but not in the Canary Islands such as rotavirus and minigitis B vaccine.
